Capital Bank’s Social Committee Concludes Seventh Annual Employee Chess Championship
Capital Bank’s Social Committee concluded the seventh edition of the Bank’s annual employee chess championship, held at the Orthodox Club, with the participation of more than 20 employees from various departments across the Bank in a competitive atmosphere marked by enthusiasm, focus, and a positive spirit of competition.
Following the final rounds, CEO Tamer Ghazaleh and Director of the Large Corporate Banking Division and head of the Social Committee, Wael Al-Bayyari, honored the top three winners, who demonstrated outstanding tactical skills throughout the championship. Zaid Al-Jundi secured first place, Ahmad Khairy came in second, and Sadeem Abu Taha placed third.
The championship was organized under the supervision of the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation and followed the Swiss system across nine rounds, with each player allocated 20 minutes per game. This format ensured fairness and added to the excitement of the tournament.
The championship reflects Capital Bank’s approach to fostering a well-rounded work environment that supports talent development and strengthens cognitive skills, alongside its commitment to employee wellbeing. It stems from the Bank’s belief that strategic thinking, quick decision making, and teamwork are all essential elements in building an institutional culture rooted in excellence and innovation.
