In Collaboration with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature
Capital Bank Employees Plant 1,000 Trees to Mark World Environment Day

As part of its 30th anniversary celebrations and in line with its environmental and social responsibility commitments, a team of Capital Bank employees took part in a tree-planting initiative organized by the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature under its “Green Caravan” program. The event was held in the Al-Jizah area in celebration of World Environment Day.

Capital Bank served as a Gold Sponsor of the "Green Caravan" program, and its employees helped plant 1,000 fruit-bearing trees on land owned by small-scale farmers. This initiative reflects the bank’s ongoing support for projects aimed at expanding green spaces and enhancing food security across Jordan.

On this occasion, Touleen Barto, Chief Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer at Capital Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting environmental initiatives. She noted that sustainability is a core pillar of the bank’s strategy and that this partnership with the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature reflects Capital Bank’s belief in the power of collective action to create a better future.

Barto emphasized the importance of supporting small-scale farmers and increasing green coverage, adding that environmental commitment is an integral part of the bank’s identity and values.

The tree-planting initiative is part of the Green Caravan program, launched by the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature in 2003 to increase green cover in Jordan and support small farmers by planting trees with environmental, nutritional, and economic value. The program aims to strengthen food security and sovereignty, combat desertification and climate change, promote local production, empower low-income families, and improve water resource management. As of the end of 2024, the program had planted over 234,511 fruit trees and improved the living conditions of more than 11,125 families.
